Student dismissal/absences/check-outs

Students are dismissed from school at 2:15 p.m. All students must be picked up on time. If you have an emergency, please contact the front office secretary to notify her of your arrival time. It is important to always ensure that your contact information/telephone number is updated in our student information system.

If your child is not picked up before 2:45 p.m., a staff member will contact you about picking up your child. Parent’s picking their child up after 2:45 p.m. will be required to come into the front office to sign your child out. We have limited staff that is available to supervise students in the afternoon. Please support us by picking your child up on time daily from school.

If your child is absent from school, please send a note to your child’s homeroom teacher the next day your child returns to school explaining your child’s absence. Parents have 3 days, beginning with the day your child returns to school, to submit a parent note or doctor’s excuse explaining your child’s absence.

Student afternoon check-outs are NOT allowed after 1:45 p.m. If you need to check your child out of school, please do this prior to 1:45 p.m. Attempting to check your child out after this time interferes with our dismissal procedures. Early checkouts are also monitored by administration. When students are frequently checked out of school early, this disrupts their learning and limits them from receiving valuable information that is being provided by their classroom teacher.
